Reducing conflict and fostering coexistence between elephants and people
In 2014 I was selected as an Ecoexist PhD Fellow specializing in elephant ecology. Ecoexist is an project that takes a holistic approach to human-elephant conflict (HEC) in northern Botswana, specifically in the Eastern Okavango Panhandle region. My research will serve to expand the scope of the project to the Western Panhandle and build up the baseline knowledge on HEC and elephant ecology in the region.
The project directors of Ecoexist are Dr. Amanda Stronza, Dr. Anna Songhurst, and Dr. Graham McCulloch.
